Municipio (Mexico) - A municipio (Spanish for "municipality") is one of the two types of second level municipality in Mexico. Each of Mexico's 31 states is divided into a variable number of municipios, ranging from five in Baja California and Baja California Sur to 570 in Oaxaca.
Baja California - Baja California is the northernmost state of Mexico. It is sometimes incorrectly referred to as Baja California Norte to distinguish it from the Baja California peninsula, of which it forms the northern half, and Baja California Sur, which forms the souther half of the peninsula.
Baja 1000 - Baja 1000 is an off road race that takes place on Mexico's Baja California Peninsula during a full moon to aid the racers. The competition was offically started in 1967 (it had previously been the site of informal dirt bike racing), and originally went from Tijuana, Baja California, to La Paz, Baja California Sur.
Baja California Sur - Baja California Sur is one of the 31 States of Mexico, occupying the part of the Baja California Peninsula south of the 28th parallel. It is bordered to the north by the state of Baja California, to the west by the Pacific Ocean, and to the east by the Gulf of California, also known as the Sea of Cortez.
